All of that said, I was seriously delighted when Charlie's mama agreed to jump in for a few images of the two of them. K is gorgeous and has the same amazing smile as Charlie. The two of them have a beautiful connection that was evident immediately! I LOVED watching them play and love each other. Here's just one little peek for K! I hope you love it, I really do. And I'm going to make myself not share anymore for a while, I want K to have some surprises when her images are all ready, lol! Which HOPEFULLY will be mid week next week! I will have some more fabulous mama/kiddo images coming soon though. Of another gorgeous mama and her babies! Stay tuned!

sweetness.
I love parent/child images that really show some LOVE, some emotion, some connection. I love mama's who want to be captured lovin' on their babies. I have spent far too many years avoiding being in front of the camera and my kids will one day wonder where the heck I was. Take some photos of yourself with your kids. Beg someone else to snap a few. Go to a professional photographer and have some created. . . whatever method, just do it! Your kids will not care that your hair wasn't the way you love it or that you had twenty pounds to lose, they will just see the love you share.

the coolest little dude, Charlie.
ok seriously, I feel so lucky. Photography is such a joy for me, just being able to create photographs is a treat. But add to that, the amazing people I get to meet because of it and wow. I am just so lucky. Really blessed is a much better word.
I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Charlie and his beautiful mom, Krissy, a few weeks ago and boy did I have fun! Charlie sang, he danced, he jumped and ran, he LAUGHED and made me laugh. He was a total doll. Beautiful, soulful eyes and amazing smile. I wanted to put him in my pocket and bring him home with me! I will be posting some more images of him in the coming days because I just love him, lol!! I sincerely hope Krissy enjoys these. And I hope you can all see through these photographs just how much fun we had that beautiful, sunny afternoon.
Krissy and Charlie, thank you for coming out to the shoot. I am a better person for having spent an afternoon with you both. I'll be back with more in a couple of days!

Documenting the little things
Anyone who knows me knows how I feel about children. I think they are seriously amazing. By far the coolest members of our society. So full of life, love, trust, confidence, freedom. What could be better?! I think capturing the little details of our children is critically important. Obviously the medium I usually choose is the photograph. That's a personal preference. Whatever your favorite way is, make sure you're doing it. Documenting who these amazing people are. Documenting what they love. What they said that made you laugh this morning. What they love the most right now. What little quirkc they have. You get the idea, capture it, capture it while you can. They are growing and changing every single day and every day with them is a gift, cherish it and let them know how much you love them, how amazing they are. They deserve to hear it.
This image is a few weeks old, and it's a repeat for many of my online photo sharing friends, but it goes well with what I'm trying to say tonight. This is my twelve year old daughter. She really is like sunshine for my soul. The reason I love this image is because it captures the way she tucks her hair behind her ear when she has it pulled back. It's a simple, subtle thing that she does without thinking about it, while in the midst of conversation, but it's a very real part of who she is on a day to day basis right now. And I never want to forget. Thanks for letting me ramble! Go capture something that you cherish about your child. :)

six day old sugar.
Meet the most precious six day old ever! Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing beautiful baby Elisabeth. She was a total sweetheart and wide awake most of the time! Quite a darling little chunkaroo, she was almost 11lbs at birth! Thank you to the C family for allowing me to share this very special time with you. You guys are a beautiful, amazing family.
Tiny toes because I know her mama loves toesies!

Can you believe all of that beautiful, dark hair!
And finally, a little pout. (Don't worry, I have a version with her whole head too, lol, I just loved that pout!) I have a feeling I will be sharing lots more of this little doll. And J, I hope you enjoyed your sneak peek!
